Our Faith
Statement of Faith
- We believe that the Old and New Testament scriptures are God’s inerrant Word and are the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (2 Timothy 3:16, 17)
- We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; co-equal but distinct in personalities; perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom and measureless in power; who concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men. (Deut. 6:4, Mark 12:29, Ps 90:2, Rev. 4:8)
- We believe that God created the heavens and earth and continues to hold them together. (Gen. 1:1, Acts 17:24, Col. 1:16, 17, Heb. 1:3)
- We believe God created man after His own image, but man, of his own will, sinned and is forever separated from God. Those who accept Christ as Lord and Savior shall become children of God, no longer separated from Him. (Gen. 1:27, 3:16-19, Titus 3:5, 6, Rom. 5:12-18, Acts 4:12)
- We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father where He intercedes for His children and His imminent bodily return from heaven. (John 1:1, Matt. 1:23, 24:30, Luke 1:26-33, 2 Cor. 5:21, Heb. 4:15, Acts 1:9, 1 peter 2:24, 1 John 2:2, 1 Cor. 15:3-8, Matt. 24:30)
- We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. (John 14:16, 17)
- We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (John 10:16, Eph. 4:4-6)
Mission Statement
Sylvan way Christian Schools is an outreach ministry of Sylvan Way Baptist Church. Our purpose is to assist families in educating their children by integrating God’s truth into all academic areas and providing loving and nurturing care in a Christian atmosphere.
Interdenominational Position
Sylvan Way Christian Schools is a ministry of Sylvan Way Baptist Church and it is the desire of the governing body to stress and maintain the basic truths and doctrines of the evangelical Christian faith.
We remind faculty, staff, parents and students that the following areas are left to the teaching of home and church: church government, time and mode of baptism, security of the believer, second work of grace, sinless perfection, gifts of the Holy Spirit, time of rapture and second coming of Christ.
We desire to remain united in the salvation and love of Christ avoiding the dissensions of denominational issues.
