OUTDOOR PLAY

Playing outside is a part of our daily schedule. Please be sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. All children go outside – even on cold days. Fresh air and sunshine are too beneficial to miss. During inclement weather, we will use the gym. Children who are well enough to attend daycare are expected to participate in outdoor play.

MEALS

The Daycare Center provides morning and afternoon snacks of juice, water or milk with a variety of nutritious foods for all children. A balanced lunch is provided for full-time daycare children. Children may refuse lunch items, but are encouraged to taste all foods. Monthly menus are posted on the bulletin board.

REST TIME

The daycare provides a cot and clean sheets. Your child may bring a small blanket, which is labeled with the child’s name, and stored, in a backpack from home. It is the parent’s responsibility to see that blankets are taken home and washed every Friday.

CLOTHING

Sturdy play clothing is best for daycare children. We ask you to dress your child so playtime will not be spoiled by fear of getting dirty. Please bring a complete change of clothing in a large zip lock bag. It will be kept in the daycare cupboard for those little “emergencies”. All daycare children need these regardless of age. Please mark each article of clothing with the last name and first initial.

Shoes should have non-skid soles to prevent slipping on the outdoor equipment. If a child does not have appropriate shoes, he/she will not be allowed on the equipment. A pair of tennis shoes may be sent with the change of clothes if desired.

ILLNESS

Children may only return to daycare once they are symptom free for 24 hours. However, if your child was sent home due to illness, they may not return to daycare the next day. Symptoms are fever of 100 degrees or higher, vomiting or diarrhea.
